Can Alfred State College students and faculty use ebooks at Herrick Library?

I am a faculty member in the Alfred State Business Department. I am writing to inquire of your library’s policy as it relates to Alfred State faculty. Specifically, I am working on a research project in which I need access to “Kids Don't Want to Fail: Oppositional Culture and the Black-White Achievement Gap” by Harris (2011). Our library doesn’t own a copy of this text but your library appears to have the full text version of the book online. Are Alfred State faculty permitted to have access to your online texts?

The use of licensed electronic resources is limited to individuals affiliated with Alfred University. There is an exception, however, for patrons who are physically in the library. So, if you visit either Herrick or Scholes library in person, a staff member at our front desk can sign you in as a guest so that you may use the material.

If you have further questions, please don't hesitate to let us know.
