Answer

Jean - the Alfred University libraries do not have many copies of the Sabbath Recorder. I'd recommend contacting Hinkle Library at Alfred State College. They are open to the public (as are we) and they have it from 1844 - 1976. Their phone number is 607-587-4313. The best person to contact is Amie Acton, she works in the mornings, or you can email her at ActonAE@alfredstate.edu.

The years 1844 - 1888 are on microfilm which was scanned and is available online through the Fulton History website: www.fultonhistory.com. It's not the easiest site to navigate, I sometimes have better luck with an advanced search in Google entering keywords and narrowing the search by the URL of the site.

Good luck with your research,

Laurie McFadden, University Archivist, Herrick Memorial Library, Alfred University
